TSUMC’s MISSION POLICY

 

Thompson’s Station United Methodist Church works through local organizations to help those who come to us with needs.  We have no resources allotted to give money nor do we have a credit card to give money.  Therefore, when someone calls the church or comes to the church asking for money or help, please note that we will use the following referrals:

The Well Outreach

The Well Outreach is a food pantry that provides emergency food assistance to families in need.  Their hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday  10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
    6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Thursday  10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
    6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday  10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
    6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Individuals are asked to bring a form of identification (driver’s license, state issued identification, passport, or green card) and a current utility bill to confirm address.  Residents of Spring Hill, Thompson’s Station, and College Grove may visit The Well Outreach Food pantry twice per month during the above open hours.

Qualified clients may receive financial assistance for basic needs such as rent, utilities, medications, food, gasoline vouchers, or school supplies.  They also point people to homeless shelters in Nashville.

 

Community Care Fellowship

This facility does not provide for overnight stay but does provide meals, a place to rest, have a shower, do laundry, receive certain OTC medications, tutoring for kids, mail and phone privileges as well as other services.

The Mission/Nuturing Ministries make recommendations to the board for our churchwide missions and collections in January each year.  These are subject to board approval.

Collections for Ministires must be first approved by the Mission Ministry.

Collections for Individuals must be first approved by the Nurturing Ministry.

Ongoing collections must also have board approval.
