Becoming a Member
We receive new members at the close of Sunday morning service. Those wishing to join should come to the front during the last hymn.
Vows of Membership in the United Methodist Church
To be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries;
To faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness.
Specific information can be found online at or you may meet with our pastor. A class on United Methodism is also offered by the pastor. This class provides specific information about the history, theology, structure & organization of the United Methodist Church. Check the website or call the church office to find out when the class is offered.
WAYS TO BECOME A MEMBER
BY PROFESSION OF FAITH
If you have never been a member of any church, you can join formally through baptism and become a member by a “Profession of Faith.” The Pastor will be glad to discuss baptism with you.
BY TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER CHURCH
If you have been an active member at another United Methodist church or a church of another denomination, you can join by a “Transfer of Membership.”
Since you are already baptized, you will be asked to take the vow taken by all members of the United Methodist Church: “Will you be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness?”
BY RE-AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
If you have professed your faith and been a member of another church of any denomination, but have not been active for a while, you can become a member. Your baptism is accepted and you will be received into membership on Re-Affirmation of Faith. You will be asked to take the vow above taken by all members of The United Methodist Church.
